In 1986 Westinghouse closed its large Cincinnati Ohio production facility which designed and manufactured Iso Phase, Bus Duct, and Load Break Switchgear amongst others.

In 1987 two of Westinghouse’s Managers; Mr. Norris King & Mr. Gerald Meyer concluded an agreement with Westinghouse. With the tooling and designs obtained from their previous employer Norris and Gerry moved up the road a bit and founded Crown Electric & Manufacturing Inc. a Cincinnati based corporation.

For the next 20 years Crown Electric grew into a well established Electrical Power Industry supplier of Iso-phase, Phase seg, Phase non-seg, Bus Duct, Custom Match and Line Switchgear, Specialty Enclosures and Power Houses.

In 1997, Norris and Gerry brought in Mr. Chad Shell, a talented young mechanical engineer with over a decade of design and manufacturing experience in the highly customized switchgear life extension arena. Because of his talents and dedication, Mr. Shell was given an opportunity to establish an equity position in Crown Electric.
 

In August of 2006, the Owners of Crown Electric Engineering and Manufacturing LLC showed their determined commitment to the US Electric Power Industry by breaking ground on a new 6+ Acre Factory in Monroe Ohio.

In the midst of the worse recession our country has seen since the Great Depression – Crown Electric is doubling our factory. We will have dual overhead bay cranes with 100,000 lbs of lift capability – Four (4) roll up doors including a 25 foot roll up front door able the handle the largest switchgear outdoor houses in a single piece shipping section allowed on Interstate highways.

Our IPB capabilities will be such that we will be able to quote anything you can uncover. For sure we won’t get them all – but we won’t loose them because the facility can’t handle the load.
